JAMES SPARSHATT Dark Materials series Taken at sunset in Gokarna in southern India, this series of ethereal beings, seem to emerge from the sea as ghostlike apparitions of the past.  Their energy is of youth and the joys of life on a beach, a world without cares, where friendship and sharing are elemental parts of life.  Gokarna is the site of three ancient Hindu temples, the sea a place to wash away the sins ofthe world.     Snowscapes series The immediate aftermath of a snow storm is a landscape of magical quality for a child.  A place of snow ball fights and snowmen, a world to explore and escape into the shared exuberance of youth.
